Privacy policy
In short: your files never leave your device. No cookies, no tracking, no third-party services.
This is a translation of the German Datenschutzerklärung, which is the legally binding version.

2. Your files and input
Every tool on Kladde works only inside your browser. Files, text, grades and anything else you enter are processed on your device and are not sent to our server or to anyone else. Your browser downloads the programs that do the work (for PDF editing, text recognition or video conversion, for example) from our server, just like a website's images or fonts.
A Content Security Policy enforces this: on this site, the browser may only connect to our own address.
3. Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by [Hostinger International Ltd., Cyprus]. When you open a page, the server automatically processes data your browser sends: IP address, date and time, the address requested, referrer, browser and operating system. This is needed to deliver the site and protect it from abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are deleted [after X days]. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the host.
4. Storage in your browser
We don't set cookies. Some settings are kept in your browser's local storage so they're still there next time: light or dark theme, language, and what you enter in the grade calculator, the cover page generator, the letter and the CV (including an application photo, if you add one), versions of letters and CVs you explicitly save, recently used formulas and the focal length of your camera as measured by the scanner. A signature is only stored if you choose “Remember on this device”. Your browser also remembers which notices you closed and which news you've already seen. When you pass a file to another tool (“Continue with …”), it sits briefly in your browser's storage and is removed as soon as that tool opens. So that the tools work offline, a service worker stores the program files in your browser cache. This data stays on your device and we can't read it. Storing it is strictly necessary for the features you ask for (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.
5. No third-party services
Fonts, programs and icons are served from our own server. We use no analytics, no ad networks, no embedded videos and no social media plugins.
6. Contact by email
If you write to us, we process your message and address to reply, and delete them once they're no longer needed for that.
7. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), and you can complain to a data protection supervisory authority.
