How counting works
Like Word: spaces count, line breaks don’t. A word is anything between two spaces that contains a letter or a digit, so “e-mail” is one word. Footnotes from Word and OpenOffice files can be counted or left out.
The bibliography is detected from a line that only says “Literaturverzeichnis”, “Bibliography”, “References”, “Works cited” or similar.
